LETTER FROM THE VINE LEADERSHIP

The Vine has always been a ministry in motion. 8 years ago, The Vine began with only 100 college students and 20-somethings meeting in the YAC. Since that time, we've been committed to the call on our lives to be a people on the move. At times, this obedience has taken us into scary and uncomfortable places where we must learn to be fully dependent on God for our needs. Each time, we've humbly asked God to work in our lives so that we may serve and love others in our community, whatever that may look like.

One of the things I love most about The Vine is that we have never been defined by music, preaching, or a worship gathering. Instead, we are defined by the web of relationship we build around our community, and the way we move and work in these places of influence for the glory of God!

As many of you know, we are moving again. The Vine will be on Tuesday nights in the YAC, and will be called by a different name. However, we are not changing what has always defined us. We will continue to be a community committed to becoming college students and 20-somethings who desire to become the people God has created them to be. We will continue to be passionate about worshipping our amazing Savior. We will continue to be a community focused on studying and knowing God through Scripture. And we will continue to be transformed by giving ourselves away to a world that needs to know Him.

The new ministry will be called the Post, based off of Psalms 119:30 in The Message. "I post your road signs on every curve and every corner." It is our prayer that we continue to see God continually challenging us to become more than we ever dreamed we could be when we are obedient to His calling in our lives.

We want to invite all of you who have been involved in The Vine, as well as other college students and 20-somethings, to join us on Tuesday, February 5th at 7:00p.m. for the kickoff of the Post in the Youth & Activities Center (we will be moving to The Block-our new student building-when the doors open next fall)!

Sincerely yours,

ben hardman & paul mumaw
